Senate Bill 9 (SB9)
The 80th Texas Legislature passed Senate Bill 9 (SB9), mandating the Texas Education Agency (TEA) to acquire criminal history reports, including a national criminal history background check based on the submission of fingerprints on all school district employees hired after January 1, 2008. The fee for fingerprinting process is $47.45 at the cost of the employee.
